Why should you choose Footnote Education for your child?

This is an entirely fair question. Why should you pick us over all of the many other education companies out there? Indeed, why should you bother with private tuition at all, when there are plenty of schools which provide much the same service?

The answer is pretty straightforward: we’re not all of those other educational companies, and we are certainly not a school. What we do, and the way we do it, is a little bit different. We believe strongly in understanding students, and finding out exactly what works best for them. We’re not just interested in selling textbooks or revision guides, and we don’t see exam results as the be-all, end-all of education. We want students to do well, but we want them to discover that there is considerably more to learning than exam results and university places. We want them to enjoy the process, as much as any results.

Of course, this is not to say that many other educational companies and schools don’t believe this as well, nor is it to say that we don’t believe in doing well in assessments. But we do think we’re well placed to support students effectively, and we think our approaches work well to encourage the love of learning that is, or should be, the real goal of a proper education. We hold the view that if students love what they are learning, and the learning process itself, then the usual measures of academic success, like exam results and good university places, should follow on naturally from that.

We believe that this approach is best pursued in one-to-one or, at most, very small group settings, which most schools cannot effectively facilitate. We believe in high quality, well researched, and well written materials, instead of overly simplistic textbooks or AI produced worksheets. Most of all we believe that this approach is best suited to producing independent minded students, who can then go on to tackle new subjects by themselves, with the confidence of a strong foundation of skill and knowledge.

If you believe that education is important, and worth pursuing, then Footnote Education would be an ideal place to pursue it.
